So thats it.... Our journey through WW2 has come to an end.

Please use this thread to talk about the highs, the lows and anything in between.

We'd love to hear about what you liked, what you didn't. Screenshots, clips and videos.

Any and all feedback is useful to us going forward so feel free to speak your mind. I'll put out a rather lengthy debrief over the next few days, this space is for you to say what you want. Would be great to hear from our newer members too!

I will be doing a proper post soon.

The Quick-Reply is that this was the best deployment I've been a part of.

    I'd probably rank them:
    D11
    D10
    D7

    D8
    D9

With D11 and D10 being wayyy up there because they both had strong themes that really took us somewhere (or somewhen) new and different. Something that tapped at the core of things and really let us prove ourselves in new and different locales and situations.

I think the best moment I had in D11 was when I got to be a gunner in a Sherman tank. It was hella fun! <3 And the whole WWII deployment was fun too!

Also I wanna thank everyone behind D11 and everyone else attending it. It was one hell of a fight ya all!

    On the negatives

One thing I want to put out there though on the negativ side was the (overloaded) inventory

    On the Positives:

Next stops Korea, Kongo (part 1 & 2), yugoslavia, ukraine, and many many more, maybe even ww3 (Spaaaaaaaaace).

jokes and potential spoilers aside. This deployment was fun.

A lot was learned during it. We don't need fancy gadgets to kick ass. Although I am very happy to have them back.

Inter squad play increased a lot more. There where a lot of ups and some downs but all in all it was enjoyable.

The Dev team deserves all praises they can get, especially finding that sound bug and getting a mod out there to fix that.

This deployment was a nice climax to the whole year I would say. Looking forward to more!

(I will add more to this post if somehting comes to mind.

Still can't believe it's over. I wish it would've stayed for longer.

    Let's start with the positives.

    - The setting, come on, who doesn't love WW2?

    - The modpack (praise the dev team)

    - Mission making (trying to keep it historically accurate while making it fun at the same time is a bit challenging but I think that this has been achieved quite well by the mission makers)

    - In-Game comms: Since we didn't have 343s anymore, we were forced to echo orders coming from the squad lead and I think this has given us a valuable lesson that we can live without radios. Also, I have been 2IC/1IC for a couple of missions and I have noticed that Gambler net was not as noisy as it is during modern days, which is also a good thing.

    - Inter squad coordination. There were quite a few times when Cutlass found themselves maneuvering around the battlefield in coordination with other squads and I can only look at that as a very good thing.

    Cons.

    - That M1 Carbine 2ICs received. I hated that god damn rifle because it was zoomed halfway in when you ADS'd and you couldn't do anything to it. (i got used to it, but that doesn't mean i liked it more)

    - Why didn't it last longer?

(no, for real, I tried thinking at some cons for the past 30 minutes. this is all I came up with)

Maybe I wished we would've impersonated some Russian/Finnish troops, I think there was a bit of potential there.

I can't wait to see where next year's time machine will take us to.

    Good things,

The musical moments building the atmosphere in the mission's

The paradrop on Albany with the Flak popping all around throughout

The Combined use of Vegas Talon and Gambler in the Tanks (not squashing infantry)

The feeling of being cold when in the bulge with screen effects and chattering teeth.

    The Role Playing:

    Cpl.Arras!!
William for keeping the map marking legit :P
    Stabanese BANZI charges!
Outlive "smoking them cus he had got em"
    Emersion throughout

    The missions loved them!

The loadouts and uniforms were so good.

Best Mission/Momment- Albany by far, running around in the dark with no night vision, bumping into Caesar and Ref in a hedge at Blades RV, wondering if I was gonna se my guys then having them turn up minutes later, thanks all

  • Overall, i think it was good and interesting. From my point of view, mainly that i only had 3 modern missions before D11, it was too long and i would gladly trade my cigaretes for modern gadgets).

The missions that i liked the most were: both snow missions, even the moment when Vilhelm used Dussack as meat shields)), for tank movement and cooperation with infantry and a immersion bit, Albany  as well for paradrop part and lurking in dark. Got a bit sad coz there were not much Soviet action.
Other than that, praise the dev team for bringing all of this, i belive, exp that people got from D11, mainly lack of 343 radios and having much higher chance to die will help us in future.

    Can you elaborate on this?

What I meen is the Backpacks that where overfilled, as far as I could tell. My Engineer had issues getting the toolkit into his backpack to repair stuff or shift inventory around to fit a detonator in. Do you understand what I meen? It was not a major problem, just a inconvinience that some times took up too much time playing inventory tetris.

    Excellent deploymnet.

Quick thoughts (more to come later) the earlier missions were one of the best ARMA experiences of my life.  Full of atmosphere, planning, thought and just generally good game play.  Great job Stab and Caesar.

I wasn't a huge fan of the armoured combat as I'm mostly an infantry guy, so that lost my interest a bit.

Loved the Japanese side of things too.

I think I've mentioned this before in another post, but I wasn't a huge fan of the constantly changing weapon loadouts -- but I know that's the product of a war that spanned many many years and advances in weapon technology.
